We welcome you to 2018’s July edition of Berlin Sessions’ monthly residency at Berlin’s most beautiful rooftop: Klunkerkranich!
Since four years Berlin Sessions X Klunkerkranich tries to highlight some of the best music the Berlin indie scene has to offer, while always broadening the boundaries of the so-called „Indie“-genre. This month, we’ve invited two talented acts, who evince exactly this: MADANII will showcase her unique blend of Electronics with the Persian music world, and Máni Orrason will play his Indie-Folk in a full band setup.

MADANII
Berlin-based MADANII combines elements from Pop, Electronic and RnB accented by sounds from the Persian music world, resulting in songs often dealing with political and socio-critical topics that arise from her background and surrounding world. Her first EP „DO I LOOK DANGEROUS 2 U“, which will be released later this year, uniquely blends Persian and electronic elements, combined with Alternative Pop tunes a la BANKS and influences from artists in the likes of SEVDALIZA and FKA Twigs.

Máni Orrason
As a 16-year-old, Máni Orrason released his first Hit: „Fed All My Days“ is a Popfolk-Song who led the talented young man on his first international stages. His debut-album „Repeating Patterns“ and the follow-up EP „Wake Me Up“ cemented the way and the young Songwriter and Multiinstrumentalist was praised all over. His current album „I Woke Up Waiting“ is a personal story, filled with honest and relatable little anecdotes, which acts as a mental inventory. Thanks to his Songwriting talent, the songs are not lugubrious or lethargic, but rather activating and lively, with smart lyrics that take a look on the more humorous side of life.
