Zum Montag freut sich der Vogel immer wieder über ein Konzert zum Start in die Woche. Marlais spielt Folk im weitesten Sinne – und damit ist wirklich ein weiter Sinn gemeint. Song Miniaturen und traditionell anmutende (Volks-) Weisen mitten im Zeitgeist, zwischen hochgestellten Barstühlen, dem Zweilicht der Neuköllner Gassen und irgendwo auch Felder voller blutigem Klatschmohn, außerhalb der Stadt. Die Band um Marlais immer im Wechsel, mit Saxophon, Synthesizer, Elektronik – man darf gespannt sein. An den Decks vorab: Sigourney Skywalker.

Another Monday and yet another concert. We are very happy to have Marlais back at our roof with his band. Marlais plays wonderous Folk, in a wider sense. Enriched with electronics and a very uncanny vibe. Think of a foggy night over Neukölln cobbles, smokey pubs and wide fields of red poppies outside the city – and put it all together in a song, woven into the music with a mesmerizing yet soothing voice. The band is always evolving, bringing saxophone, synthesizers and more to the stage. At our decks beforehand: Sigourney Skywalker.
