Die auf der Insel São Vicente geborene und seit Jahrzehnten in Brockton, Massachusetts, lebende Sängerin Lutchinha Leite zählt zu den bedeutenden Bewahrerinnen der kapverdischen Liedkultur in der Diaspora. Seit fast vierzig Jahren trägt sie Morna, Coladeira und andere traditionelle Formen durch Europa, Afrika und die Vereinigten Staaten und gibt dieses musikalische Erbe an jüngere Generationen ihrer Community weiter. Begleitet wird Lutchina an diesem Abend von Igor Sassety und A Panda do Sol! An den Decks: the legend that is Jimmy Trash und N.E.S.T.A.

With Lutchina Leite, N.E.S.T.A. has invited a true giant of Cape Verdean musical culture to perform on our rooftop! Born on the island of São Vicente and having lived in Brockton, Massachusetts, for decades, the singer Lutchina Leite is one of the most important custodians of Cape Verdean song culture within the diaspora. For almost forty years, she has been bringing morna, coladeira and other traditional forms to audiences across Europe, Africa and the United States, passing on this musical heritage to younger generations within her community. Lutchina will be accompanied on this evening by Igor Sassety and A Panda do Sol! On the decks: the legendary Jimmy Trash and N.E.S.T.A.
