Sie sind zurück: In den letzten Jahren ist es Ashraf Sharif Khan & Viktor Marek gelungen, sich eine solide Karriere aufzubauen – allein dank der schieren Kraft ihrer unglaublichen und unglaublich unterhaltsamen Live-Sets. Und das, obwohl ihr Debütalbum „Sufi Dub Brothers“ erst im August 2020 erschien, nach fast zehn Jahren Entstehungszeit und mitten in den Turbulenzen der Corona-Pandemie. Längst sind die Vorwürfe verflogen, ihr Ansatz, Sitar und Sampler zu kombinieren, sei esoterisch. Mit ihren Karate-Chops (einem bodenständigen Sinn für Humor und herausragenden musikalischen Qualitäten) konnte das herausragende Duo aus der Waterkant diese Vorwürfe mühelos ausräumen und dazu beitragen, ihre Heimatstadt Hamburg als neues Zentrum der europäischen Indo-Pop-Fusion zu etablieren. Nachdem sie ihre ausführlichen Künstlernamen zugunsten des Namens „Sufi Dub“ komplett aufgegeben hatten, ist nun die Zeit reif für „The Return of The Sufi Dub Brothers“: Mit einem Titel, der gleichermaßen eine Anspielung auf den verstorbenen Lee Scratch Perry wie auf vergessene Superhelden-Franchises darstellt, wurde dieses neue Werk im November 2025 bei Fun In The Church veröffentlicht.

They are back: During the last few years, Ashraf Sharif Khan & Viktor Marek have been able to build a valid career, based on the sheer strength of their incredible and incredibly entertaining live sets. And this despite the fact that their debut album „Sufi Dub Brothers“ came out in August 2020 after almost ten years in the making in the midst of all the COVID turmoil. Long gone are the suspicions of their approach of combining sitar and samplers as esoteric. Using their karate chops (an earthy sense of humor and outstanding musical qualities), the stellar duo of hearts from the Waterkant was easily able to dismiss these accusations, helping to establish their home of Hamburg as a new center of European Indo-Pop fusion. After fully skipping their extensive artist names in favor of the Sufi Dub moniker, the time is ripe for „The Return of The Sufi Dub Brothers“: With a title equally giving a nod to the late Lee Scratch Perry and oblivious superhero franchises, this new offering has been released by Fun In The Church in November, 2025.
